Description

LebanonPostcard presents the book: Liban Lebanon – Le Livre de bord d’un photographe, A Photographer’s log book – Varoujan by Saad Kiwan and Cie – Hardcover book, 33x24x2.5 cm, 260 pages, 2kgs (Used but still new).

This is the logbook of a master photographer, an album of memory and memorabilia – 260 pages and 202 photographs of landscapes, historic sites, portraits of Lebanese and foreign public figures, flowers, anthropomorphic or zoomorphic rocks, and trunks, with an introduction by Joseph Tarrab.
It bears a double testimony and a double hommage.
– A testimony to the still heroic age of photography when one had to maintain a lively relationship with the surrounding world because cameras were not yet digitalized. And to a certain Lebanon that was unaware it was to be so short-lived.
– A hommage to that same Lebanon. And to a photographer who takes place, in his own manner and style, in the lineage of the orientalist painters-travelers. He loved this country passionately, dedicating to it the best of his gifts.
To the highest glory of God and of what the Lebanese believe to be His masterpiece.
