Edifices et Equipements Publics – Volume 1 – Public Buildings and Structures – Volume 1 –
Softcover book 33×23.5 cm with protection, 160 pages – Chahine Gallery 1996
English: The principal objective of this work is to make our Heritage or Patrimony (from patrimonium: pater, our fathers’ and ancestors’ legacy) known, appreciated, and loved, since it is indeed an integral part of our Collective Memory, our Cultural and Artistic Environment, to increase the awareness of our fellow-citizens, of the Lebanese who have emigrated as well as that of tourists, revealing to them our often unknown treasures, especially after the seventeen years of war when free movement throughout the country was nearly impossible.
In addition, we hope that we will be able to encourage the discovery of unknown or forgotten (we wonder why?) regions, especially the region of Akkar, Batroun, etc…, and to arouse the curiosity of amateurs by encouraging their search for new sites that we would be delighted to include in future publications.
Furthermore, the purpose of this work is also to preserve and restore whatever sites can still be saved and which would otherwise disappear forever, this will be largely as a result of private Lebanese as well as foreign initiatives, the task would be to secure Lebanese or foreign sponsorship from Associations, Banks, the Lebanese still living abroad, various Institutions…
