The few coming years will mark many centennials of epoch-making events in our history:

1-1584-1984: The fourth centennial of the foundation of the Maronite Roman seminary (please see Part VII, Chapter V).
2-785-1985: The twelfth centennial of the death at the Abbassid court of Baghdad of the Maronite scholar theophilos Al-Rahawy, advisor of the Khalife Al-Mahdi (See Part VII, Chapter VII, Section 2).
3-1585-1985: The fourth Centennial of the first printing press in the Orient, installed at the Maronite monastery of Qazhaya Lebanon (Part VII, Chapter VI).
4-686-1986: The thirteenth Centennial of the Patriarchate of St. John Marun. First Maronite Patriarch (Part IV, Chapter I).
5-586 – 1986: The fourteenth Centennial of the Rabbula Gospel, a Maronite manuscript of the Gospels, including Paintings illustrating the text (Part V, Chapter VI).
6-1687-1987: The third Centennial of the birth of the great Maronite Scholar, Yusif Sim’an Asem’ani, author of many books and principal founder of Orientalism (Part VII, Chapter VI).
7 – 1789 – 1989: The second Centennial of the accession to power of Prince Beshir Shehab II the Great.
8 – 1889-1989: The first Centennial of the death of Yusif Bey Karam, hero of Lebanese independence in Modern times.
9 – 1789-1989: The second Centennial of the foundation of the University of ‘Ayn Warqa by Patriarch Yusif Estephan.
10 – 1889-1989: The first Centennial of the elevation to the episcopate of Patriarch Elias Hoyek, principal promotor of Lebanese independence in modern times.
11 – 1590 – 1990: The fourth Centennial of the accession to power of Prince Fakhr-Al-Din the Great, founder of the independence of Lebanon in modern times.
12-1492-1992: The fifth Centennial of the return from Europe of Gabriel-Ben-Qala’i Dau, first Maronite to achieve his studies in Europe and first Maronite Scholar, historian and Orientalist in Modern times.

One of the main aims of this publication is to honour these events.

Grateful acknowledgement is made to Dr. Mubarak Amar who revised the manuscript proofs of this book, the first of its kind in English, as to its subject, the Maronite history.

All prices include shipping and handling. LebanonPostcard will be responsible for sending the packages you order, at your charge, through the service D.H.L. / E.M.S. with tracking number code guaranteeing reception of the package.

We ship as soon as possible, but within maximum 4 days after the order is received.
Credit cards are not charged until we actually ship the items. The items may take between one and six days to arrive, according to the country they are sent to.

Packages are sent with track code to guarantee reception, and delay is rare. In the event of non-delivery or delay, nothing can be done for 7 days. At the end of this period, on our being informed, a demand will be made for the package to be traced. If 14 days after the first dispatch there is still no delivery, a second package will be sent free.

Packages inside Lebanon are sent registered through LibanPost to guarantee reception, and delay or non-delivery is rare. In the event of non-delivery, nothing can be done for 6 days. At the end of this period, on our being informed, a demand will be made to LibanPost for the package to be traced. If 12 days after the first dispatch there is still no delivery, a second package will be sent free.
