La présente recherche est une des premières qui se base essentiellement sur des anciennes archives inédites des couvents pour étudier le rôle des moines dans l’histoire rurale du Liban depuis l’époque ottomane jusqu’après l’indépendance (1710-1960).

L’études met en lumière l’autonomie relative du Mont-Liban et le statut privilégié de la terre, les modes de délimitation et les régimes d’irrigation des propretés agricoles, la diversité des systèmes de datation, les poids et les mesures, les monnaies et les prix, les genres d’impôts, les abus du système fiscal et les soulèvements populaires, l’activité agricole des moines et leur stratégies dans l’expansion territoriale, les contrats de métayage et la situation des métayers, le rayonnement culturel des couvents: premières imprimeries arabes au Liban, écoles bibliothèques et conservation du patrimoine.

La longue période étudiée et le recours de l’auteur à la méthode quantitative sérielle ont permis de saisir, plus que les événements, les mutations sociales, économiques et culturelles. La micro-analyse dépouillé la recherche historique de son aspect idéologique pour l’insérer dans la réalité vécue du peuple.

L’histoire rurale place sur le devant de la scène la foule des paysans et des travailleurs qui ont peiné de leurs mains pour transformer les rudes montagnes du Liban en des terrasses fertiles qui leur assurent le pain et la liberté.

Packages are sent with track code to guarantee reception, and delay is rare. In the event of non-delivery or delay, nothing can be done for 7 days. At the end of this period, on our being informed, a demand will be made for the package to be traced. If 14 days after the first dispatch there is still no delivery, a second package will be sent free.

Packages inside Lebanon are sent registered through LibanPost to guarantee reception, and delay or non-delivery is rare. In the event of non-delivery, nothing can be done for 6 days. At the end of this period, on our being informed, a demand will be made to LibanPost for the package to be traced. If 12 days after the first dispatch there is still no delivery, a second package will be sent free.
