Ce livre est pourpre comme le sang séché qui maculait Beyrouth au lendemain du 4 août: pourpre comme les tuiles explosées, comme les murs éclaboussés, comme la fumée que personne ne pourra plus oublier; pourpre comme les cauchemars qui nous agitent depuis; pourpre comme la robe d’Alexandra, petit ange arraché à l’amour de ses parents, comme ces autres innocents dont on a volé les existences. Il ne pouvait en être autrement nous avions déjà trop vécu, cette guerre de quinze ans, les occupations et les tutelles, cette absence de démocratie; il a fallu affronter pire et encore pire.
Marqué par trois années inhumaines, ce livre II de Avant d’Oublier n’en est pas moins animé par l’espoir. Nous avions un pays, imparfait, bancal, disputé, divisé, mais nous avions un pays quand même, alors rendons-lui hommage. Le thème de la nostalgie anime toujours ces articles, une nostalgie non pas stérile mais orientée vers l’avenir, une nostalgie qui permet d’imaginer ce que pourrait être le Liban de demain, un morceau de paradis sur la Méditerranée, une terre d’accueil, de tolérance, de joies, d’amour, le Liban de Gebran Khalil Gebran, Nadia Tuéni, Mikhaël Neaimeh, Georges Schéhadé, Salah Stétié et de tant d’autres, le Liban qui serait aussi celui de l’égalité des chances, pas des privilèges d’une mafia, le Liban de l’ouverture et de l’humanisme, pas celui de marionnettes manipulées de l’étranger.

We ship as soon as possible, but within maximum 4 days after the order is received.

Packages are sent with track code to guarantee reception, and delay is rare. In the event of non-delivery or delay, nothing can be done for 7 days. If 14 days after the first dispatch there is still no delivery, a second package will be sent free.
Packages inside Lebanon are sent registered through LibanPost to guarantee reception, and delay or non-delivery is rare. In the event of non-delivery, nothing can be done for 6 days. At the end of this period, on our being informed, a demand will be made to LibanPost for the package to be traced. If 12 days after the first dispatch there is still no delivery, a second package will be sent free.
