Throughout the Mediterranean area, the branches, blossom, and fruit of this mythical tree have always made their appearance on festive occasions and appeared on nuptial robes as symbols of innocence, freshness, and fertility.

The orange blossom called Neroli takes the form of a charming white or pale rose flower picked on the Bitter Orange tree, a shrub originally from India and introduced around the Mediterranean during the Crusades. During the sixteenth century, the princess of Neroli, a small town near Rome, launched the fashion of using it and gave it the name of her place of residence.

It is particularly in the nervous domain that this essence excels and benefits. As an effective sedative, Neroli acts in a positive way during fits of anguish, particularly those resulting from loneliness and insomnia. To everybody, it gives a feeling of interior peace and restored serenity. Sensitive and delicate skins will soon be soothed following daily treatment with this hydrolate.

While Neroli has qualities highly appreciated by perfumers, it’s respected above all for its therapeutic properties.
