Saffron of Lebanon is cultivated ecologically without artificial fertilizer or pesticides. Produce of Lebanon from Adyar, St, Anthony’s Monastery, Ghazir.
Red Gold, or Christ’s Robe, is farmed with great attention biologically by monks of the Lebanese Maronite Order at an altitude of 3,000 feet in Mtein, the sunniest region in the heart of Mount Lebanon.
Did you know that about 150,000 flowers have to be hand-picked to produce one kilogram (2¼ lb. approx.) of saffron?
