After months of meticulous research, drawing on the work of leading scholars in the field, and with the invaluable support of my brother Camille, I’m pleased to unveil my latest project: a detailed and unique poster map (100x62cm) charting the expansion of the Phoenicians across the Mediterranean and beyond.

This map features 180 Phoenician cities and colonies, from Cyprus to Portugal, with a special effort to include their original Phoenician names wherever possible. It also highlights the presence of Phoenician communities outside formally established colonies (in 50 cities across Italy, Greece, France and Egypt), as well as 40 towns whose cultures show clear evidence of Phoenician influence, particularly in Anatolia and the Iberian Peninsula. Finally, it identifies 170 temples dedicated to Phoenician deities.

To top it off, there’s a close-up of the “traditional” Phoenician homeland, featuring 72 cities (almost all with their original Phoenician names) for a more detailed look at where it all began.

بعد أشهر من البحث الدقيق، بالاعتماد على أعمال باحثين رائدين في هذا المجال، وبدعمٍ لا يُقدّر بثمن من أخي كميل، يسرني أن أكشف عن أحدث مشاريعي: خريطةٌ مُفصّلة وفريدة (قياس ١٠٠*٦٢ سم) تُبيّن توسّع الفينيقيين عبر البحر الأبيض المتوسط وما وراءه.

تُظهر هذه الخارطة 180 مدينةً ومستعمرةً فينيقية، من قبرص إلى البرتغال، مع بذل جهدٍ خاصٍّ لتضمين أسمائها الفينيقية الأصلية حيثما أمكن. كما تُسلّط الضوء على وجود مجتمعاتٍ فينيقية خارج المستعمرات المُقامة رسميًا (في 50 مدينةً في إيطاليا واليونان وفرنسا ومصر). بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تُحدّد الخارطة 40 مدينةً تُظهر ثقافاتها أدلةً واضحةً على التأثير الفينيقي، لا سيما في الأناضول وشبه الجزيرة الإيبيرية، ثم تبيّن أخيراً 170 معبدًا مُخصّصًا للآلهة الفينيقية.

ولإضافة لمسة مميزة، أرفقت صورة مقربة للوطن الفينيقي “التقليدي”، تُظهر 72 مدينة (معظمها بأسمائها الفينيقية الأصلية) لإلقاء نظرة أكثر تفصيلًا على مكان الجذور والبدايات.

Après des mois de recherches méticuleuses, m’appuyant sur les travaux d’éminents spécialistes du domaine et avec le précieux soutien de mon frère Camille, j’ai le plaisir de dévoiler mon dernier projet : une carte détaillée et unique (100x62cm) retraçant l’expansion des Phéniciens à travers la Méditerranée et au-delà.

Cette carte présente 180 cités et colonies phéniciennes, de Chypre au Portugal, avec un effort particulier pour inclure leurs noms phéniciens d’origine autant que possible. Elle met également en évidence la présence de communautés phéniciennes hors des colonies officiellement établies (dans 50 villes d’Italie, de Grèce, de France et d’Égypte). Elle identifie également 40 cités dont les cultures témoignent clairement de l’influence phénicienne, notamment en Anatolie et dans la péninsule Ibérique. Enfin, elle montre 170 temples dédiés à des divinités phéniciennes.

Pour couronner le tout, un gros plan sur la patrie phénicienne « traditionnelle », avec 72 cités (presque toutes portant leurs noms phéniciens d’origine), offre un aperçu plus détaillé du lieu où tout a commencé.
