Hassan Alameddine was a great painter, who really bloomed near the end of his life when he fell in love and married his muse.
He later overcame partial paralysis by using his left hand when his right arm was paralyzed by a brain stroke, for he could not imagine his life without his art and he also knew how much his beautiful paintings meant to his beloved muse.
The sheer simplicity and beauty of his paintings are a true witness to his great talent.
الأسم: حسان علم الدين – لبناني، من مواليد بيروت سنة 1933 – تخرج من الجامعة اللبنانية. يحمل شهادة لا علاقة لها بالرسم. أمضى حياته ضائعا يحلم بأن يكون فنانا، لم يطرق باب أي مدرسة تعلم الفن وكان يدرك أن الفن لا يمكن أن يكتسب بالمدرسة أو الجامعة أو أي مكان آخر.
الفن، حسب رأيه، جذوة تتقد في النفس دون أي شعور أو ارادة. انه كالعطر ينشأ في الزهور دون أن تشعر وذات يوم قرر أن يكون رساما… وأن يمارس فن الرسم ومنذ ذلك اليوم لم يفعل أي شيء غير ذلك، وكان لهذا القرار سبب وحيد «امرأة».
علم الدين يسأل الله أن يمد بعمره الى يوم يرسم فيه ملهمته ورفيقة. احلامه جنان.
«أتدرب على رسم البورتريه، لأني أريد أن أرسم جنان بأبهى صورة تعكس حقيقتها» ويضيف بصوت يغلبه البكاء من دون أن يزعزع ثقته أو ثبات كلماته «.. بعد ذلك، لا يهمني ان مت في اليوم نفسه»
