L’homme le plus aimé et le plus redouté du Liban touristique. Né au Liban à Beyrouth, Pépé Abed a passé des années au Mexique… et un peu partout à l’aventure, avant de revenir au pays.
Joaillier, décorateur, animateur de boîtes, plongeur sous-marin, archéologue amateur, il est l’homme-orchestre des loisirs libanais, même si ses méthodes rigolardes, parfois agressives et souvent désinvoltes, lui valent quelques ennemis irréductibles. Il a monté une demi-douzaine d’établissements au Liban et, d’abord, le restaurant Bacchus à Beyrouth, dans un décor incroyable d’amphores et de chapiteaux phéniciens, de statuettes grecques et de bustes romains, “trouvés” au hasard des fouilles sous-marines, souterraines ou sous toutes réserves que Pépé pratique depuis toujours. Il a une plage privée au sud de la ville, “Acapulco”, ambiance tropicale, avec ses trois cents bungalows, un restaurant et l’animation à la Pépé. Il en a une autre au nord de Byblos, l’Hacienda, sans compter le délicieux Byblos Fishing Club et l’Amiral Club de Tyr.
Mais cet animateur de la vie nocturne libanaise est, aussi, un homme des petits matins: il aime à se promener sur les plages aux premiers rayons du soleil, scrute d’un œil de poète ces sables qui ont recouvert cinq civilisations et délivrent parfois un morceau de poterie érodé par le temps, des perles de verre irisé, une monnaie dont le relief s’estompe. De ces matériaux sans prix, dont la valeur est tout ensemble archéologique et sentimentale, il forge des bijoux étranges, mariant ce qui vient de la mer à ce qui a surgi des sables, jetant d’un passé millénaire à notre époque en devenir, la fragile passerelle de la création artistique.
A lui seul, il s’est assuré un “service de presse” que lui envieraient plusieurs écrivains réunis. Des articles et des reportages en diverses langues – français, anglais, allemand, espagnol, japonais – consacrés à ses activités ont diffusé aux quatre coins du globe, à titre gracieux, les caractéristiques de ses fiefs touristiques.

All prices include shipping and handling. LebanonPostcard will be responsible for sending the packages you order, at your charge, through the service D.H.L. / E.M.S. with tracking number code guaranteeing reception of the package.
We ship as soon as possible, but within maximum 4 days after the order is received.
Credit cards are not charged until we actually ship the items. The items may take between one and six days to arrive, according to the country they are sent to.
Packages are sent with track code to guarantee reception, and delay is rare. In the event of non-delivery or delay, nothing can be done for 7 days. At the end of this period, on our being informed, a demand will be made for the package to be traced. If 14 days after the first dispatch there is still no delivery, a second package will be sent free.
Packages inside Lebanon are sent registered through LibanPost to guarantee reception, and delay or non-delivery is rare. In the event of non-delivery, nothing can be done for 6 days. At the end of this period, on our being informed, a demand will be made to LibanPost for the package to be traced. If 12 days after the first dispatch there is still no delivery, a second package will be sent free.
